Our story · A decade of dough

One starter. Ten years. Still bubbling.

We started in a converted garage on SE Division with a single deck oven, a sack of Camas Country flour, and a starter named Ramona. A decade later Ramona is still doing the heavy lifting — every loaf we sell traces back to her.

Today we mill our own grains twice a week, ferment everything for at least 24 hours, and bake exactly enough — never more. We close when the racks are empty, even if it's 11am.

On the practice

We are seven people working at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and material research. Founded in 2011 in Seattle, we work primarily in the Pacific Northwest on private houses, small civic buildings, and adaptive reuse.

We design slowly. We prefer mass timber to steel where the structure allows. We talk to our clients about a building's life cycle the way some firms talk about facade panels — at length, and with conviction.
